Gandhi Youth Group

If we are to teach real peace in this world... we shall have to begin with the children.” - Mahatma Gandhi

We believe that it is paramount to develop the values of service, justice, peace, and compassion from a young age. This is why we have worked hard with youth aged 5-18 to get them excited to give back to their communities in a variety of ways. The Gandhi Youth Group has been actively involving youth in philanthropic activities, such as volunteering at local food banks and participating in the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup among other events.

Gandhi Youth Camp:

To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth, the Gandhi Youth Committee hosted a one day summer event for youth to learn about the core principles that Gandhiji preached. We wanted to encourage our youth today to carry forward Gandhiji’s legacy by teaching mindfulness, peace, kindness, self-sufficiency, and community service through interactive and engaging activities.

The camp was held on Sunday, July 28, 2019 from 9:30am to 3:30pm at the Charles Rummel Recreation Centre in Burnaby, BC for children aged 6 to 13. Watch the video below :
